Basty's 5th birthday - Tarlac

Basty wanted a Jollibee party but Jollibee Capas is small and they don't have play area so we told him we'll just have it in Mcdo and he agreed. It's actually an advance celebration - we celebrated it Aug. 28 (Sunday).

I went to the blog and downloaded the file last Friday. So come Saturday, Basty and I had a blast making a cupcake.

Piazza

Sunday mass in our condo is at 8am. It's too early for us. We found out that there's 11am mass at Piazza so we go there whenever we're late. Basty and Alec actually like it there because they get to play @ the playground.

3 years old

We celebrated Alec's birthday at home. It was just a simple dinner with her ninongs and ninang. We bought cake in S&R and ordered food from Ambers.

walking - not yet

2 weeks ago, we bought shoes for Alehra. She's now trying to stand on her own and it's so cute. Kuya and ate both wanted to hold her.

Growing up fast. Soon she'll be running with ate and kuya.

Solids (another milestone)

Last March 27, Alehra finally ate solid food. She's sooo takaw. I made plain lugaw for her. She actually cried when I stopped giving her food. I hope she won't grow a picky eater like ate and kuya.

I plan to give her squash and carrots after few days.

Best in Dance and Movement

Basty was awarded "Best in Dance and Movement". I believe he really deserved the award since he looves dancing. Two thumbs up for Basty my dancer :)

Mini me

That's me and my cousin Rosette on the first half of the picture, below is Rosette's daughter Chelsea and my daughter Alec. Parang mga mini mes namin :)

I am older than Rosette but she's bigger than me. Ganun uli ngayon with our daughters. Alec is older than Chelsea but Chelsea is bigger.

3rd month

Today is Ehra's third month. I am happy that she's healthy (except for the colds). Since I'm back to work, she's now drinking my expressed milk when I'm in the office. I was glad when she didn't have a hard time drinking from the bottle. She's really not a cry baby and she's not fussy.

Last Saturday (Jan.15) we had her ears pierced. I'm disappointed with myself when I forgot to take a video (not even a photo) of it.

She's also on track with the baby's milestones. She coos a lot when you talk to her and she also smile back. She follows you when you move from side to side. She can carry her head for a long period of time.

We have scheduled her baptism on the 29th of this month. Hope everything will be okay considering we only had 3 weeks to plan it.

Alec's 2nd bday

We had fun @ EK a day before her bday and then we had a simple celebration @ home on the day of her birthday.

“You’ll never fully appreciate your mother until you become a mother yourself”

Lagi ko itong naririnig, pero na realize ko lang sya talaga nung naging mommy na rin ako. Naisip ko lahat ng mga nagawa ng mom ko for me (sa family namin). Nung bata pa ako, there were many things na iniisip ko na bakit ganito ang mga decisions ng mom ko…pero now I know why…sobrang kapakanan namin lagi ang iniisip nya. She sacrificed a lot for us. Dati sinasabi din nya na instead na bumili sya ng damit for herself, para sa amin na lang ang binibili nya, di ko man lang na appreciate yun noon…feeling ko kasi dati responsibility naman nya na gawin iyon. But now, ganun na rin ako, pag nag mall ako, most often than not, para sa baby ko ang na shop ko, not for myself or hubby.

I have a lot to be thankful to my mom...sabi nga nila, kahit anong gawin mo, you'll never be able to repay all the things na ginawa ng mom mo for you. Until now, she's always there for me. She's taking care of my son. I can only imagine how hard it is for one to become a new mother without her own mom by her side. My mom stayed with me few days bago pa ako manganak...asa hospital sya the entire time na andun ako.

I know I have given her lots of heartaches...I'm sorry for all those times.

If I would be asked to give 1 word that would best fit her, that would be GIVING. She's always there for her family (our relatives). When a relative goes to her for help, as long as she can, she won't hesitate to help. That's why when she got sick, all of those people she helped showed up. They were all there to show gratitude.

In our family, we're not really expressive of our feelings. We normally don't say I love you or express how much thankful we are or how much we value each other. Here, I want to say I love you mama! You mean so much to me!

Playtime

Our usual routine everynight is play with his stuffed toys and read books. He can actually say the word "books" (hindi bulol). He knows most of the animals and he imitates their actions or sounds.

Potty training

I'm so proud with my Basty. He's now using the potty trainer when he needs to pupu. Yehey, we're almost diaper free.

I realized that it's time to potty train him when he keeps on saying pupu right after he made pupu...he's irritated with the pupu in his diaper.

Brushing

Here's how we brush Basty's teeth. There should be one holding Basty and another 1 doing the brushing. There's always struggling, crying, screaming and kicking every brushing time.

After brushing, he would stop crying and then request for the toothbrush so that he can do it on his own. He actually likes brushing, but he wants to be in control. We let him brush on his own after so that he would still enjoy brushing even if we have to do it by force at first. With all this effort, I do hope we win this battle against toothdecay. There's only one area where we fail. Basty still drinks milk at night and we can't let him drink water after. I also tried wiping the teeth with gauze after, but he keeps on tossing, making it really hard and sometimes I feel that I might wake him up if I insist to wipe the teeth.

Haircut

We went to Glorietta yesterday to get a haircut for Basty. Cuts for Tots moved to its new location at the 3^rd floor of Glorietta 3. When we entered Kidzone, where Cuts for Tots is located, Basty didn't know where to go first, there were lots of toys. When we reached our destination, Basty saw the cars (seats they used for the kids) and he pointed at them. There was no hesitation when we put him in the 'car', but when he saw the barber's 'gadgets', he began screaming and wanted to get off the car.

We all had to entertain Basty just so he would sit still. There was also Barney show playing on TV. We'd catch his attention away from the barber for few minutes, and then we had to get another toy to entertain him again. I wasn't able to get lots of pictures since it took all of us to hold him steady.

Final cut, can't get him to seat anymore

After the hair cut, we had a hard time getting him out of place because there were lots of toys.
